Fortunately for us, Ultimate California Pizza stays open late, because our “dinner hour” in Myrtle Beach often occurs after 9 p.m. When we arrived at the flagship UCP in the heart of Myrtle Beach, the place was buzzing. Therefore, we didn't feel like we alone were keeping the staff from going home. (And more diners showed up while we were there.)
Henry and I each ordered the House Salad with Blue Cheese Dressing on the side (theirs is delish!) and a personal pizza with anchovies and red onions. I found one sliver of onion on my half of the pizza. There were six anchovies on the whole pie. More of our chosen, cost-added toppings (especially the onions) would have been nice. Nevertheless, the whole wheat crust with rosemary, Ultimate Red Sauce, mozzarella cheese, and seasonings added up to a satisfying pie. A Cabernet wine made everything all better, and busy Sam, our waiter, was pleasant.
