An Almost Raw Deal Made Good

Wendy's

Our family arrived at this Wendy's (see map) in north Greensboro, North Carolina, and ordered several of our standard Wendy's favorites. Our son David ordered the Bacon Cheddar Hamburger combo (fries and a drink). Our son Jonathan had the Big Bacon Cheeseburger Classic combo. Both guys liked what they ate.

Henry and Sarah selected chili and a side salad. I chose the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, salad, and a baked potato.

The chili was akin to Brunswick Stew flavor-wise, and in the fact that it was soupy. It had pieces of celery, pintoes, red beans, onions, and ground beef in a somewhat spicy tomato/beef broth. It was hearty, enjoyable, and satisfying. The side salads were good, though the carrots were a bit whitish.

I was the “unlucky” one. My Grilled Chicken on a bun was undercooked. So undercooked that I had to send it back. The manager came out, and in a nice way, asked if I preferred another sandwich or a refund. I chose to try the Grilled Chicken again. The substitute sandwich was satisfactory, as was my potato.

All in all the Wendy's meal was good enough, though getting the half-cooked chicken and having to send it back was certainly unsettling.
